Model Inquiry
The Model Inquiry (MI) function accesses the most popular parts for thousands of model numbers, including, but not limited to, Craftsman mowers and engines, AYP, MTD, Murray, and Southland.Model Inquiry also gives the microfiche card and grid location for most listed models to make locating parts not listed easier.
To access Model Inquiry, go to Order Entry (1) and go to the body of the ticket just as if you were going to enter lines on an order. Type in "/MI" and hit [ENTER] to reach a Mfg,model# ( or ?) prompt.
Enter the model number of the equipment, leaving out any dashes or periods. Model 132-632F-062 would be entered 132631F062 and Sears model 917.255530 would be entered 917255530.
- Note:A partial model number followed by a question mark (?) will list all matches that have that numeric sequence.
If the model number is in the database, a list of the most popular parts and their descriptions will appear. Some models will have multiple pages of information, and these can be reached by hitting the [ENTER] key. To return to the previous page, type a minus sign (-) and hit (ENTER).
Parts that are listed on Model Inquiry can be loaded directly onto an order while within Order Entry by typing the line number listed next to that item and hitting [ENTER]. To order multiple quantities of an item, key in the line number of the item followed by a comma (,) and then the quantity. To add more of a quantity, key in the line number as before, followed by a comma (,), and then the quantity you would like to add (or subtract by using a negative quantity).
Multiple models can be checked during any model inquiry session. After viewing a model, simply use a backslash (\) and hit [ENTER] to return to the Mfg,model# ( or ?) prompt. You can continue building a shopping list for all of your models, and it will automatically be entered onto your order as you leave Model Inquiry.
To exit, simply use backslash (\) and [ENTER] until the Order Entry screen appears.
